Investigations on OCDMA System under Effect of Timing Jitter
This paper focuses on the BER, Q-Factor, Eye Height for a four user OCDMA with varying jitter. Performance of the OCDMA communication system has been evaluated in terms of bit error rate, Q-factor and eye closure with jitter varying from 0 Unit-Interval to 0.7 Unit-Interval in steps of 0.1 Unit-Interval. Simulations were carried out using commercially available simulator from Gigasoft, OPTIWAVE.

This paper focuses on the effect on BER, Q-Factor for a four user OCDMA communication system with varying Jitter. Performance of the OCDMA communication system has been evaluated in terms of bit error rate and Q factor with jitter varying from 0 pico-seconds to 3.0 picoseconds in steps of 0.5 pico-seconds. Simulations were carried out using commercially available simulator from Rsoft, OPTSIM. K...
متن کاملEmerging Optical CDMA Techniques and Applications
In this paper we present an in-depth review on the trends and the directions taken by the researchers worldwide in Optical Code Division Multiple Access (OCDMA) systems. We highlight those trends and features that are believed to be essential to the successful introduction of various OCDMA techniques in communication systems and data networks in near future. In particular we begin by giving a c...
متن کاملEffect of Soliton Interaction on Timing Jitter in Communication Systems
Timing jitter in soliton communication systems is studied, taking into account both soliton interaction and amplifier noise. Deviations from Gordon–Haus jitter for closely spaced solitons are observed. A new analytical model for the timing jitter is proposed. The model presented considers interaction in a random sequence of solitons and the effect of the amplified spontaneous emission noise add...
متن کاملThe effect of timing jitter on the performance of a discrete multitone system
The transmission of high-speed data over severely band-limited channels may be accomplished through the use of discrete multitone (DMT) modulation, a modulation technique that has been proposed for a number of new applications. While the performance of a DMT system has been analyzed by a number of authors, these analyses ignore the effect of timing jitter on system performance. Timing jitter be...
